It’s not often a TV show's main character kicks the bucket. ![]() Plus, with the lack of her usual omniscient narration throughout most of the episode, fans are starting to wonder: did Rue just die? Did Rue die in Season 2, Episode 4 of Euphoria? Jules left her on a train, and Rue decided to start taking drugs again. The last time Rue had a fantastical moment was the season 1 finale. In fact, we have no idea if she’s even conscious. What follows after is a fragmented sequence of images with other characters in the show, but we never revisit Rue. After snorting pills and drinking, Rue stumbles home and takes another handful of pills…then hallucinates both an embrace with her late father and a church scene with a Labrinth cameo. ![]() Her addiction came to a head finally, after trying to keep it a secret from her girlfriend and her family. Then, in a drunken tirade, he got kicked out of a bar, flashed his penis, and blamed his family for his poor life decisions before storming out of the house.īut when we weren’t watching Cal destroy his marriage in the fourth episode of the season, we were watching Rue. Nate’s father, Cal Jacobs (played by Eric Dane), had his own time to shine over episodes 2 and 3 of the season, with a detailed flashback to his high school days and burgeoning sexuality. Between Jules and Rue’s tumultuous relationship (and the addition of Elliot), Nate’s love triangle with best friends Cassie and Maddie, and Rue’s serious drug addiction she’s attempting to hide from everyone, the show is as intense as ever.Įven supporting characters are going through it. Season 2 of Euphoria is off to a shocking start.
